Cox Green around 1900Cox Green is a small village on the south bank of the river Wear (pronounced We-Are), which is near Pensaw Hill. Inserted into the image of the village I have placed a small photograph of Alice's Well, when the well was rebuilt in 1895 it was the only source of fresh water in the village.
